Question : Internet, Mail and VPN problems when the Wifi router is connected
Hello,
I'v got a problem with a client of mine, This client has a network with 4 pc's and 5 laptops (3x XP, 1x Vista, 1x Apple) and a w2k3 standard server. the problem wich im having is as followed:
This network has a wireless lan (Linksys WRT200) but when this device is turned on that are problems at random happing:
- I cant VPN to this network anymore
- The mail ist arriving anymore
This problem doesnt accurr right afther you turn on the wifi lan, sometimes it take 3 hours for the problem to accurr, sometimes it takes a day. the point is it only accurrs when the wifi station is turned on. i disconnected this station for 2 weeks and these 2 weeks were problem free.
I'v allready tried 2 different wifi wireless routers but this doesnt seem to fix my problem. i tried a Trendnet wifi router and a Trendnet wifi access point.
The only way to fix this problem is to unplug the lan cable from the server and then reboot bouth the server and the internet modem wich is connected to the server.
When the server and internet modem are back online i can reconnect the server to the switch and then it works again for a couple of hours.
I dont know what to do anymore, does anyone has any ideas
Answer : Internet, Mail and VPN problems when the Wifi router is connected
The problem was a Apple notebook that was connecting to the WIFI lan. for some reason this mac was corrupting the lan.
Thanks for all the comments.
