Question : Add DNS entry

I know I'm supposed to list this under unix, which I have, but I'm not getting any responses. So, I'm hoping someone here knows how to add a DNS A record on a Unix system V release 4.x. I just want to add an a record for www.domain.com on the DNS server. So, in plain english, (since I don't know unix) how do you add an A record on a unix server. BTW, if you know the answer the question to this, please reply. And if it's right, I'll give points on the same question in the unix section of experts-exchange.
