Question : Can't See other computers under My Network Places in Windows SBS Server 2003
|
|
Hi, just yesterday i decided to run through the wizard to set up routing and remote access in Server 2003. Well towards the end of the install it locked up and my users couldnt access exchange or anything off of that server. So i paniced and restarted that server and disable routing and remote access like it was before.
So now exchange is work and the shares/map drives are working but i cant see the server under my network places
Also if i am on the server i cant see any computers on the domain. I mean none, not even the server itself.
I can ping the server from my machine and i can ping my machine from the server. If i type in the path manually i can go to stuff on the sever just cant go to it through my network places. Also i went to remote connect to it and i had to type in teh IP Address because the name wouldnt work it said it couldnt find it.
We are running XP workstations, and two servers with 2003. This is the domain controller the server i am talking about. Static IP network.
Any ideas? Thanks

Hi mrbob1983,
you will need to enable netbios over tcpip under the advanced properties of your tcpip config
you will need to restart also
