Question : Static IP Address

We use DHCP to hand out IP's on our network.  I have to assign one workstation a static IP.  When I run IPCONFIG I see what the IP address is currently. Can I just go into the Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) properties and click "Use the following IP Address - Enter that same IP Address and Subnet mask.  Or does something have to be done on the server also.
