Question : Unable to communicate with computer 'XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX'

Hi, and HELP!!!!

We are getting a bushel of DCOM 10009 Unable to communicate with computer 'XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX' errors, where the XXX.XXX... are IP addresses on the network.  Also, of note, the IP addresses listed, are not all actually on the network.  Some are outside of the range of IPs being assigned by DHCP, and some are known to not have any devices attached.

The server is running SQL Server (not MSDE) for Great Plains.  It is running Microsoft Windows 2003 Server.  There is plenty of RAM and available hard drive space.  It has a gigabit connection to the other servers, and 10/100 to the workstations.  It is not the domain controller.

The errors start showing up in the System Event log at 9am every morning, and quit at 10am every morning.  There are no scheduled jobs using Scheduled Tasks.  Backups using Veritas' Backup Exec start at 11pm and are done long before 9am.

Does anybody have any ideas what could be causing these errors?

Thank you for any help that you can provide.

bbfn,
Paul.
