Question : Resolving local computer names to IP address

I have a home network behind a DrayTek Vigor R2820Vn. I have the following machines connected:

Vista Home Ultimate (wired - DHCP) x 1
XP Pro SP2 (wired - DHCP) x 1
XP Home SP2 (wireless - DHCP) x 1
XP Home SP3 (wireless - DHCP) x 1
TeraStation (wired - static IP) x 1

I have recently rebuilt the XP Home SP3 machine. This machine alone is unable to resolve the names of the machines on the network to an IP address. If I browse the shared machine by IP address then I am able to connect to the computer and the name resolution then works until the next reboot. I could add the computer to the hosts file and allocate static IP address but I would rather not do this. Any ideas?

Answer : Resolving local computer names to IP address

I know that sometimes drivers need to be re-installed after SP3 - maybe worth a shot with the nic.

also you're not sharing a connection through it at all?
