Question : SMTP ERROR 552

Can anyone tell me what the follow error messages mean,
ERROR RESPONSE: 552 4.3.1 Session size exceeds fixed maximum session size
RECEIVE: 552 4.3.1 Session size exceeds fixed maximum session size
This above error comes from a tracesmtp log betwen an SMTP server and some software that I am using.

First question, how large is the message that you are trying to send. I don't happen to have the RFC handy at the moment.

If the message is too long, then you will have little choice but to break it up (presuming that you are not the system manager at the remote end of the connection with the ability to reset the threshold).

Also, at what point in the dialogue does this message appear??
