Question : Uplink Speed Slow

Hi,

My Verizon DSL was upgraded from 1.5 Mb / 128 Kb to 1.5 Mb / 384 Kb, but when I run tests I am only getting 1.5 Mb / 128 Kb.

Verizon tech support had me unplug the router and modem, restart my computer and then power up the modem and then the router.  - No change.
(the tech said that I was provisioned properly)

the tech then asked how long it had been since I replaced the telephone line to the modem "because the high frequencies that DSL use wear out the wire"

when I said 'never - still using the same wire since the DSL was installed about 2 years ago', the tech was surprised that it had lasted so long.

this sounds like complete BS to me.

what do you think?

maybe you ARE getting 128k for your upload, I would call verizon tech and ask for their second level support to explain this.
