Question : Attempting to connect new laptop to a wireless router need password

Hello, I have a desktop computer that has internet access and a wireless modem attached (Microsoft Model MN-500) -- My new laptop detects the wireless router however when I click connect I am prompted to enter a "network key" or "WEP" -- I am not sure what this is -- who do I find this out.  Can I log into the modem and determine what this is?  I do want the wireless connection to be secure; however I do need to find out the password -- (what I thought was the password is evidently not it!)  -- Thanks for your help...

Answer : Attempting to connect new laptop to a wireless router need password

By Default on this router the WAP is enabled,
If you have any startup guides you may find the default WAY Key.

or you have to login to base station at http://192.168.2.1
and use the default password "admin"
and change the wap key "better use a 10 digit mobile number you can remember"
