Question : Domain controller for domain wheelchair can't be contacted
|
|
This is the error i'm receiving and i've checked everything 100 times , everything is exactly the same as some of the other computers on the domain and they had no problem connecting. I'm clueless at this point.
Windows 2000 domain controller XP Machine smooth wall firewall that is distributing DHCP ip addresses I've added the A record resource in DNS (maybe I did it wrong) but it matches everyone elses
I dont know how to check the nebios but everyone else can connect so i'm assuming thats not the problem
I dont know what else to do.....I can map drives once I log into the map if that makes sense but i can't add the computer to the domain
HELPPPP :-)
The domain name WHEELCHAIR might be a NetBIOS domain name. If this is the case, verify that the domain name is properly registered with WINS.
If you are certain that the name is not a NetBIOS domain name, then the following information can help you troubleshoot your DNS configuration.
DNS was successfully queried for the service location (SRV) resource record used to locate a domain controller for domain WHEELCHAIR:
The query was for the SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.WHEELCHAIR
The following domain controllers were identified by the query:
wheelchair01.wheelchair
Common causes of this error include:
- Host (A) records that map the name of the domain controller to its IP addresses are missing or contain incorrect addresses.
- Domain controllers registered in DNS are not connected to the network or are not running.
