Question : being hacked via wifi peer to peer connection

Thank you all in advance.

Recently I have seen a free public wifi connection available in my wireless connection list. The problem with that is more and more often it takes over as my primary connection. This besides the fact I have selected my connection as the preffered connection.

My question is, is someone trying to hack into our connection via this free public connection?

I”ll give points to whomever can offer me a test to see if someone is my network via this free wireless connection.

you're not being hacked, however, the free signal is stronger then yours so your computer is trying to connect to it.
