Question : Netgear FVG318 and ProSafe Client Problems
|
|
I am trying to set up multiple VPN connections to my FVG318 router. I am using the wizard for the VPN connection. When setting up the client and trying to connect I get this error.
9-25: 03:58:35.578 My Connections\New Connection - SENDING>>>> ISAKMP OAK QM *(Retransmission) 9-25: 03:58:50.578 My Connections\New Connection - QM re-keying timed out (message id: 55339501). Retry count: 3
I have left the settings set by the wizaed unchanged and have duplicated them as best I know in the ProSafe client. I do have a DSL router between my FVG318 and the internet but all ports are set to be forwarded to the router IP. I am not all too familiar with VPN and the manuals for both the router and client software are somewhat confusing. Any help would be appriciated.

Answer : Netgear FVG318 and ProSafe Client Problems

>>"Do I also need to run the VPN client software on it in order to share folders " No, not at all. When you connect to the server share with \\192.168.0.123\ShareName or \\ServerName\ShareName you will be prompted for username and password. So long as the user has a current user account they will be connected and a Windows Ex poler window open as it would happen on the local network. The user name and password should not be needed again so long as the session remains active. On occasion with VPN's you need to add your domain name to your user name, for the Windows logon. If so, try domainname\username or [email protected]
Glad to hear the VPN is working. Netgear can be a bit difficult to set up, but works well once configured. Cheers. --Rob
