Question : Tivoli Server with WebLogic Server

Hi,
I need to send traps to Tivoli Server ( Storage Management) from WebLogic Server. Do I have to use SNMP here, or I can use any other mode to send traps ( exceptions) to Tivoli from WebLogic Server. I also want to know whether Tivoli understands ONLY snmp.?

Answer : Tivoli Server with WebLogic Server

The only way to actively send to TEC (Tivoli Enterprise Console) from outside Tivoli is SNMP. This makes sense,
no other standards do exist in this area.
However once you install a Tivoli endpoint agent on your Weblogic machine, other mechanisms are possible.
E.g. the agent could do a real-time read of a Weblogic logfile, and forward things leading to an alarm to TEC.
