Question : Asterisk does not detect disconnected numbers
I am running a older version of Asterisk in a commerical setting,
it works great, The problem I am having.
My Asterisk has T1 Cards, The T1s are true 24 channel T1s.
There were pluged into my hard pbx but I am using the Asterisk as my PBX now.
If I dial a number that is disconnected, ie 'The number you have reached is disconnected or no longer in service'
The user only hears a ring from her softphone connected to the Asterisk, Ring no answer.
If you call the number with your Cell phone you hear proper message.
So the Asterisk is not playing the message it hears, or does not detect that it has gotten to an operator intercept.
I am running old version 1.2.9.1 and I dont want upgrade. I use this for business and dont want to mess it up.
How do I fix this.
Thank you
Answer : Asterisk does not detect disconnected numbers
Remove the 'r' from outbound call rules
you will hear what the T1 is really doing .
it is 'r' by default if you have old system.
