Question : How to re-route DNS traffic to resolve mail server to external IP
Hi Guys,
I currently have two servers, one in the US (primary) and the other in the UK which currently has a site-to-site VPN connection from the UK to US server. The US server hosts our exchange server and the UK server is currently acting as the DNS for all local machines.
Because of the site-to-site VPN connection, the local machines at the UK office is resolving the exchange server by is local IP address but because of the very slow 512kbps upload this would only be sufficient for a few users. What I want to do is setup a route/forward the exchange server to another DNS to allow the machines at the UK office to resolve to the exchange servers external IP and have emails coming through our faster 8mbps downstream as opposed to the VPN connection.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sure, just set up the zone on the UK DNS server to be a Primary (non-AD integrated) zone, so it doesn't replicate to your other DNS servers.
