Question : If I release an IP, does it eventually renew?
So I idiotically did a remote ipconfig /release on a PC, and as expected, lost remote connection to this machine. Will the IP eventually renew and allow me to re-connect remotely again, based on a lease of some sorts, or am I going to need to physically get to this machine to renew the IP?
Answer : If I release an IP, does it eventually renew?
You will have to physically get to that machine. It will not automatically get the ip back until you reboot or type in the renew command.
