Question : Netgear FVS318 to FVS318 not pinging
|
|
Hi Experts!
I have just setup a Site to Site VPN using Netgear kit (FVS-318.)
I have a different subnet address on both ends. Both ends can ping each others external IPs (static) and the VPN tunnel is showing as established. The default gateway is set to the internal facing side of the FVS-318s at both sides so everything is setup as it should be. Problem is, neither network can ping one anothers internal address ranges.
One site is tried and tested with multiple static IPs but the addition made today was on a single static IP on the other site. The modem/router device used is a DG834 which could be the problem, it is currently set to forward all traffic to the external facing side of the FVS318 on that site. Here is the best diagram I could create with text for your information...
OLD LAN -- INT of FVS318 -- EXT OF FVS318 -- WEB -- EXT DG834 -- INT DG834 -- EXT FVS318 -- INT FVS318 -- NEW LAN 10.2.1.0 10.2.1.213-DG 194.x.x.203 217.x.x.203 192.168.0.3 192.168.0.1 10.10.1.214-DG 10.10.1.0
Please help, should I be bridging the DG834 or adding static routes etc....?
Your points await!

Answer : Netgear FVS318 to FVS318 not pinging

I have almost no knowledge of ISA but I believe it will not allow a connection from another subnet unless it has been configured to do so by making it a trusted source. However, a device on the 10.2.1.x subnet should be able to ping 'out' to the remote site. You could try that as a test, or place a PC on the outside of the ISA network as a test.
