Question : Process domin login scripts via VPN
|
|
Does anyone know if it is possible to process login scripts via IPSEC VPN? I am using a CIsco Concentrator 3000 (Cisco Systems, Inc./VPN 3000 Concentrator Version 4.7.2.Rel Jul 20 2005 12:55:44). Currently employees connect via the Cisco client, and 90 percent of them work remotely without coming into the office. Currently the employees DO NOT log into the client before Windows because they work from different locations and some times the VPN is blocked. I need to push out a Webex client via a login script but am not sure how to do it through VPN. I can manually push it out to those connected to VPN but have to monitor when they are connected. If I could process the login scripts automatically it would help me to get this client pushed out. I do not use any kind of agent like Altiris or SMS to push software to clients. All we use is Office and VPN.

I'm not sure if this is a "best practices" type of response, but if your VPN connection method is able to be run via some command-line method, instead of having users click through a GUI, you could combine the line that runs the VPN, with a line that runs the batch file.
Then just have users run this new small file from their desktop once logged in to their local offline desktop...
some line that runs their VPN.exe file with the specified connection, and then...
%logonserver%\NETLOGON\logon.bat
Just a thought.
