Question : Measuring latency between servers if ICMP blocked

Hi experts,

I will like to measure the latency between my box and a remote server by using ping. But seems that the box at the other end blocked ICMP. Is there anyway i can test the latency. I know hping can do the job, but is there an easier way?

Regards
Henry

Answer : Measuring latency between servers if ICMP blocked

hping can be cumbersome because of the amount of Tcl coding required.  If you are just looking to measure latency from your workstation, you can use lft (http://pwhois.org/lft/) to run layer 4 traceroutes.  lft works the same as traceroute, except that it uses tcp/ip and allows you to select the destination port.
