Question : Cannot access server by \\servername

Hi all,

As of a couple of minutes ago I can not access folders that are mapped to my server (H:\servername\folder)

but when I go to run and type server's IP address: \\serverIP it opens the folders.

How can I get it so that it recognizes the name of the server?

Answer : Cannot access server by \\servername

if the symptoms are

1.   \\IP to server - works
2.  \\Netbios name - failed
3.  \\FQDN name -failed

Disable SMBSIGNING on file server:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanManServer\Parameters

Value Name: EnableSecuritySignature

Data: 0
