Question : NtFrs_PreExisting___See_Ev<wbr />entLog
|
|
For some reason, my domain controller decided to move files from its SYSVOL contents to a subdirectory named C:\WINDOWS\SYSVOL\domain\NtFrs_PreExisting___See_EventLog.
As a result, I get many UserEnv errors in the event log because the group policy are missing.
I've created a NTFRS_CMD_FILE_MOVE_ROOT at C:\WINDOWS\SYSVOL\domain\ then did
net stop ntfrs net start ntfrs
as per this webpage http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=13559&eventno=657&source=NtFrs&phase=1
Unfortunately, the files aren't coming back.
What should I do ? Is it safe to stop the NtFrs Service, copy them from the PDC and restart the service again ?
Thanks,

You should be able to move them manually. These directories get created when two servers that are supposed to be replicating end up with two different versions of the replicated directory. Perhaps a file or folder got modified on one?
