Question : How to configure 3com 3300 (3C16980) without Null Modem

I need to configure an IP address for my 3300. I do not have a null modem (my laptop doesnt even have a serial port). I do have a Cisco console cable (serial on one end, RJ45 on the other)

Is there another way to configure the IP address? Is there a defaut IP address that I could possibly telnet into or access the web config?

you can log from the web browser using its IP or from Telnet in CLI mode. If this unit has been reset to faxctory default, there is no IP (0.0.0.0). Then you really need to find a workstation with serial port!!
