Question : How long can a CAT5e Network cable be??

How long can a Cat5e network cable be, before connection performace in effected. I've heard that it is about 100m. Just wondering if anyone could shed any more light on here.

I'm not really looking for a complex anuwser - connecting a pc (10/100) to  a gibabit switch.

   I run a Cat5E connection just shy of 100 m and have tested it to Cat5E standards.  It works like a charm.  You can read more here:
