Question : Benefits of a Cisco Infrastructure?
|
|
I am working on developing a proposal to replace my companies existing network. We currently have 8 offices, connected with vpns using linksys, sonicwall, netopia, etc. class hardware. I am proposing both a Cisco VoIP solution, and tying the locations together with AT&Ts MPLS offering. Help me to complete the following bullets. These should not include any benefits of the VoIP, only the benefits of using Cisco hardware company wide, such as access control, reliability, etc.. Thanks for your help. They must also be simple enough for someone knowing very little about computers to understand.
Benefits of a Cisco Infrastructure.
1. Unsurpassable network reliability, stability, performance, and security. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Answer : Benefits of a Cisco Infrastructure?

I'm sorry, but IOS is NOT user friendly - user friendly is GUI, not command line.
That being said - a LOT of Cisco's equipment is going over to the "dark side" of GUI.
My main bullet points would be:
* Market leader of network equipment - sort of you don't get fired for buying Cisco * Many offices and field engineers available to help you. * World class technical support - with pre-positioning replacement equipment in a depot if you want that * Walk into a big book store - whose books from a vendor do you see - Cisco's. * How easy is it to find someone with Cisco certification and equipment - vs. finding someone with a Sonicwall or Netopia certification. * Uninformed people think Cisco is expensive - go take a look at F5, Foundry, Juniper, Riverbend ...
