Question : How can I completely disguise or "cloak" a URL?
I am using a payment processor for all the transactions of selling my products from my website. The company is called e-Junkie. The way they work the process is that I place a buy link on my webpage that visitors will click on if they want to purchase the product.
Ultimately it goes to PayPal. However the way their process works is that once the payment is made and they go through PayPal, they are automatically routed to e-Junkie who provides a unique e-mail containing a unique link to download the product they purchased.
As an option, e-Junkie can direct the purchaser, via an e-mail that contains a link, to ONE OF MY WEBPAGES in order to download the product. I have tried in the past unsuccessfully to set up Google's website optimizer tool (which basically does a A/B analysis for what might be the best sales page for example) to work with e-Junkie.
I've literally spent between 15 and 25 hours trying to get it to work and even though I asked for assistance from e-Junkie as well as Experts Exchange, the result was not successful. Therefore, I am trying a new approach.
If I can completely cloak my product download URL from displaying to the purchaser of my product, I can use Google's website optimizer. Unfortunately I am barely literate in HTML and JavaScript and don't have a clue as to cloaking or hiding URLs - if in fact, it is even possible.
Hence, that is why I am contacting the guys with the big brains. Bear in mind if it is doable, to please describe it in non-technical terms (as much as is reasonable) because like I said, if it's going to get complicated, it is going to be way over my head.
I don't know if this is going to have any bearing at all but one of the key factors is whether it will involve using or not using a PHP script. Please let me know if you don't have enough information to respond and I will be happy to answer whatever questions you have.
Thank you again for your help.

Hi photoman,
What is the purpose in masking the link? Is it to prevent multiple downloads or mask some part of the link so some location is not known?
