Question : When I click on network adapters I do not see them but I am on the internet

We had a server problem this morning when we came in.  We cannot get half of the services to start.  The server is online but you cannot open any of the events in the event viewer, although you can see them, you cannot see the network adapters listed when you goto network properties, IIS will not start as it asks for credentials to login.  It is a big mess.  We would like to be able to open the events to further troubleshoot.  Also, when you try to open the services panal you can only view them under standard, the other/main option is a goofy looking screen.

Answer : When I click on network adapters I do not see them but I am on the internet

Navigate to the event viewer on your machine, then click on Action --> Connecto to another computer.
Enter the name of the "unhappy" server.  This might allow you to view, it's worked for me in the past.
I'm assuming you bounced the server already when you found all of this out??

Hope this helps you get to the bottom of it!
