Question : What is best used Cisco router for CCNA study/practice?

I am studying for CCNA exam 640-801 and I need an affordable Cisco router that I can practice with.  Can anyone recommend a model and give me an idea how much something like that would cost?  If anyone knows of a software based router simulator that would be fine as well.  If anyone wants to describe the materials they used to prepare for CCNA, I would like to hear that a well.  Thanks in advance, G. You can get a Cisco 2501 off EBay very inexpensively.  I'd recommend getting two so you can actually do some routing.  You'll need a Cisco serial crossover cable to connect the two via serial ports.  You'll also need a transceiver for the ethernet port on the 2501.  Look for a 2501 that comes with the crossover serial cable and the transciever.  Be sure to get a 2501 with at least IOS 12.2.  You should be able to pick up a 2501 for under $200.00 and is by far, hands down, much better than simulator software.
