Question : Port Forwarding when Firewall is Disabled
Have a Westell 327W DSL modem with a static IP address, set to bridge mode. For the past month, I have not been able to remote desktop into the server (has not worked since we lost/restored Verizon service.) Tech support says problem may be that I need to forward TCP Port 3389. However, the modem's firewall is disabled. When the firewall is disabled, shouldn't all ports be open and port forwarding not be required?
