Question : WMI might be corrupted

i was messing around with disabling services a few days ago and now when ever i go to the properties of my wireless connection and click the advanced tab i get a message basically saying the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) information might be corrupt.
but I've gone back to msconfig, services tab and enabled it, yet the problem still happens.
also network sharing does not work for my one computer. if I'm on comp2 and i go to run and put \\comp2 and press enter then it will show me my shared folders but if any other computer tries it will not work (I'm guessing thats because of the WMI problem)
it doesn't look like I'm even able to forward ports right now either.

windows says to do a system restore but i don't want to risk loosing any files which have been downloaded so is there any alternative way to fix this problem?
