Question : GPO To Disable Saving To Desktop

I was wanting to know if there is a way by using group policy to disable saving files to users desktops but still allow them to save shortcuts to the desktop?

Answer : GPO To Disable Saving To Desktop

You can go to Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Common Open Files Dialog to remove the Desktop icon from the Places Bar. This will is supposed to help prevent users from saving data to the desktop.
