Question : Win98 cannot ping WinXP

Hi,
I have a PC A(win98) and a Notebook B(WINXP).
Problems: PC A cannot ping Notebook B, but Notebook B can ping PC A

PC A Config:
OS - WIN98 SE
Network - Netbui, TCP/IP, Microsoft Client Network and File and Print sharing
Firewall - NIL
IP- 172.16.2.18
netmask - 255.255.255.0
gateway -172.16.2.1

Notebook B Config:
OS - WINXP SP1
Network - TCP/IP, WEP, Cisco 350 Wireless NIC
Firewall - NIL
IP- 172.16.2.6
netmask - 255.255.255.0
gateway -172.16.2.1

note: both machines are able to ping the gateway(wireless SMC router ).

Answer : Win98 cannot ping WinXP

Go into your network cnnection screen, switch to the advanced section, and see if the FIREWALL check box is on/off.
