Question : 169.x address and DHCP servers

Hi

If a device is set to DHCP client and is picking up a 169.x address, is there anyway of finding out what DHCP server it's trying to connect to?

You could use a sniffer (Ethereal) on the line and watch the packets being transmitted across the wire..  this will tell you if it is making the request, and if the DHCP server is responding...
