Question : Wireless connection between houses

I would like to connect our house with the neighbors across the street. I wanted to do a wired connection but that would mean setting up about 20-30 yards of cat5e cable as well as going across asphalt.
If I could have a wireless directional signal to act as the wired connection in between our houses, what equipment should I use? It will most likely have to be powered over ethernet but if there are alternatives I am interested.
I have to take into account that I might want to setup multimedia sharing or a game server, so the faster the connection the better.
I have been looking at the TRENDnet TEW-631BRP draftN router as well but I have my doubts. If I decided to go omni-directional, should I invest in boosters?

Answer : Wireless connection between houses

Assuming that you have good line-of-sight between the houses (can you see window-to-window?) what you really want is a wireless point to point bridge set. Put one bridge near a window at each house.
