Question : Cannot find Primary DC??

Hi,

We have 4 WindowsNT4 servers in an NT domain called "ntnet"; a PDC and 3 BDC's. Yesterday, I promoted one of the BDC's to become the new PDC. The old PDC was demoted successfully to a BDC.

Now, I can run server manager on the new PDC as well as on the 2 BDC's that were not touched. But when I run server manager on the old PDC, I get the message "Cannot find the Primary DC for ntnet".!!

I tried rebooting the old PDC but no luck. Event logs look ok.

On the new PDC, I ran regedit and changed the key HKLM\system\current control set\services\browser\parameters\LSDomainMaster from FALSE to TRUE. But this didn't help either. I have not as yet rebooted the new PDC.

What does the output of a "net accounts" on the old PDC say?  Do you have any entries in the LMHOSTS file?
