|
|
On my secondary domain controller I constant get this warning message in my Application eventlog:
>MS DTC could not correctly process a DC Promotion/Demotion event. MS DTC will continue to function and will use the >existing security settings. Error Specifics: d:\nt\com\complus\dtc\dtc\adme\uiname.cpp:9280, Pid: 1668 >No Callstack, > CmdLine: C:\WINDOWS\system32\msdtc.exe
Why do I get this warning and what can I possibly do to aviod getting this warning?

Seen this many times It is just a warning and can be safely ignored. However if you want to get rid of this warning in eventviewer, follow the steps to re-fresh MS DTC
1. Click Start, point to Control Panel, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Component Services. 2. Expand Component Services, expand Computers, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. 3. Click the MSDTC tab, and then click Security Configuration. 4. Under Security Settings, note the settings, and then click to select the Network DTC Access check box. (As a default, normally no check boxes are selected) 5. Click Yes when you receive the following message: MS DTC service will be stopped and restarted. All dependent services will be stopped. Please press yes to proceed. 6. Click OK two times. 7. Click Security Configuration, and then under Security Settings, specify the security settings that you had originally configured. (If by default no checkboxes were checked on this dialog, uncheck them again including Network DTC Access check box) 8. Click OK. 9. Restart to see if you are still getting the event
Cheers!
