Question : SMTP mail won't send from server
Hi,
I've just set up a new server (windows 2008) and I can't get it to send out email via smtp.
the emails are generated form a mail form with ASPMail. they seem to generate and process fine but they are sticking in the mailroot queue.
When I open the mails they say: Delivery Status Notification (Failure)
SMTP is running and I have a FQDN set up and the firewall is apparently open for SMTP. I'm using the built-in iis6 SMTP.
I've just had the same set-up on another server and it worked fine so i am most confused.
can you suggest anything? Thanks.
Answer : SMTP mail won't send from server
Check the system event viewer. There might be warning messages with source SMTP that can help you further diagnose what the issue is.
